Photo shoot with Naturally Yours Events + Ashley D Photography

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to take part in an amaaaazing fall/woodsy styled wedding photo shoot. And lemme tell you folks, it rocked. I can. not. wait. until the photos get published somewhere, because from the sneak peeks that were sent to me, it will not disappoint. I've worked with the amazing Carlene of Naturally Yours Events a few times before, and girlfriend is talented. She always puts together an amazing shoot with a whole crew of talented people, and this time was no different. This was the first time I'd met and worked with Ashley of Ashley D Photography, and I am soo thankful that I was asked on this shoot. She takes the most gorgeous photos; always capturing the light oh so perfectly. And the icing on the cake was that the shoot was fall/woodsy inspired. If you know me at all you probably know that I'm obsessed with fall and pumpkin anything. The instant I knew that Carlene was involved and that it was described to me as "outdoors and Harvest Festival themed. Not thanksgiving, but more of the Greek Harvest of Wine Festival" I was sold. I think I literally emailed Carlene back with just "done!" Haha. Our models for the shoot were an adorable real life married couple Meghan + Eric. I got to know Meghan a little bit as I dolled her up for the shoot, and not only is she just plain awesome, but it turns out she's recently started up a paper pressing business of her own. She did an amazing job on the invitations for the shoot, so keep an eye out for that! Fun fact: we also shot a little at her Aunt + Uncle's beautiful lake house property, which they so graciously let us intrude in on.

Anyway, check out a few of my behind the scenes camera phone photos and definitely stay tuned for Ashley's super amazing stunningly beautiful (yeah, it's all those things) professional photos!

How about those gorgeous vintage chairs from Shadowbox Dreams Vintage Rentals? Ah-mazing. Also, those flowers..agh! So pretty!! Stay tuned for more : )

Alice Padrul + Christy Tyler Photography

I am so excited to share these gorrrgeous photos from Christy Tyler Photography of Alice Padrul's new bridal collection! As if the photos themselves weren't enough, Alice's new dresses + accessories are to die for, seriously. If you remember this was my second shoot with Christy doing hair + makeup. I was nervous. I've been slooowly building my makeup kit, so I always feel totally unprepared for these things where I don't feel 100% confident in my abilities. Everyone has been super supportive in me taking this next step, including Christy, so I felt like I should try to do her proud and just go for it! Haha- what do you think? I feel pretty good about it - but that's partially because Mallory is the most beautiful model a girl could ask for, Christy took the most amazing photos ever, and Alice supplied us with the most gorgeous goods to doll our model up with. So, it was leaning in my favor anyway : )

Go ahead and see what I'm talking about:

Quote of the week

Rachel T. wedding photos

Welp, Christy Tyler has done it again. Taken the most gorgeous shots of one of my July weddings - the absolutely beautiful Rachel! How stunning? I mean, really. Oh, and Dominica of Outer Beauty Airbrush was the talent behind Rachel's flawless makeup in case you're wondering (and almost everyone else in her bridal party for that matter). Take a peek at these photos and then show Christy some love over on her Facebook page.

Rachel, thank you so much for letting me take part in your big day - you were just the prettiest bride and so much fun to work with (along with your lovely bridal party)! Congratulations again + I wish you all the best!

Debra Petrielli freelance hairstylist aaand makeup artist?

Oh, boy.. I knew this day had to come eventually. Everyone keeps telling me I should get in to makeup more and start offering services. I've been verrry slowly putting together a makeup kit, but now I've gotta jump right in! I've officially done both hair + makeup on three photo shoots and I'm lined up to do it on two more in the next few weeks! I'm hopefully going to tweak and perfect my skills by putting my makeup artist friends to work with private lessons so that I'll feel more confident about it. I just know that so many more opportunities will come my way if I add "makeup artist" to my skill set. Here's hoping!

I am no makeup rock star by any means (so much to learn still!), but check out these photos from previous shoots I did hair + makeup on and let me know what you think!
