Reese E. wedding photos (sneak peek)

So, I just got my hands on these photos yesterday from one of my July weddings - and how gorgeous are they? I love everything about the way they are shot; so pretty! My client Reese looks like a total babe and check out how her Rapunzel braid turned out! Not too shabby, right? In case you're wondering she's rocking a Violet Bells Bridal cap veil that can be found at (where else) Mignonette Bridal. So cute!
I can't wait to see the rest of the photos captured by DeepEnd Imagery!

Looove Salvage One as a venue - it is soo awesome!

Phillip Lim for Target (photo shoot + event)

At the beginning of August I was called by a representative for Target to take part in their upcoming photo shoot + event at The Chicago Theatre. Um, ok! The event was to promote some Target sold brands and the upcoming Phillip Lim for Target clothing line (super cute, by the way- check it out!). There were two other hairstylists besides myself and quite a few more makeup artists. Our job was to doll up the models for the shoot, as well as local consumers who popped in for a quick makeover. The models were a combination of professional models and local Chicagoland "influencers" (so just well known lovely people living in Chicago); it was pretty fun! I also got to quickly meet Robbie Gould (kicker for the Chicago Bears); so awesome. All in all it was a cool event and I made some new hairstylist/makeup buds while I was at it which is always fun. Check out the few photos I was able to snap, as well as the Target photo booth shots!

For great behind the scenes photos from the shoot head on over to Très Awesome and peep on those!

New friends!

It gets fancy.

Photo shoot with Christy Tyler Photography + Alice Padrul Bridal Couture

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to work with some really amazing people on a photo shoot to showcase some of Alice Padrul Bridal Couture's gorgeous wedding gowns and hair accessories (I mean it folks, they are pretty incredible). And the talent behind the photos themselves was, the always lovely, Christy Tyler of Christy Tyler Photography. Something came up with our originally scheduled model, so Christy was tasked with finding a new model for the shoot. Not super easy. Thankfully, one of her former clients/brides was available and a totally beautiful replacement. Alice asked me to just do something messy/romantic for the hair and classic/pretty for the makeup. I hope everything turned out how Alice imagined it!

Check out a few more of Christy's teasers and let me know what you think!

Gatsby/Art Deco shoot

When I was first approached about this project and asked if I would be interested in participating, I was told it would be Gatsby-esque. Sold! I love anything old-school, retro, vintage, etc... And when the lovely Kpoene' of Mignonette Bridal asks me to help out with something my answer is always yes. Anyway, we were lucky enough to get this shoot published on Style Unveiled; featured as an art deco inspired shoot. Take a look at this beautiful photographs that SPARK + TUMBLE snapped at the Madonna della Strada Chapel at Loyola University, and The Powhatan Apartments.

Little, tiny, baby Josie is off to college!

My little sister is currently driving to University of Louisville with my parents to start her freshman year! I am so excited for her; I know she's going to have toooo much fun. But I sure am gonna miss her!
I made her a few gifts for her dorm/new big girl college life. This little guy:

And I made her a little playlist for certain occasions while she's away and might need it most.

"Josie here is a little something for:

1. When you need to study: Expressions, Helen Jane Long
2. When you ace your exams: Can't Hold Us, Macklemore + Ryan Lewis
3. When you are getting ready to go out: Fake ID, Big and Rich
4. When things are good: Good Life, OneRepublic
6. When you need a vacation: Island In The Sun, Weezer
7. When you need to go work out: The New Workout Plan, Kanye West
8. When you need to dance weird: Tarzan Boy, Baltimora
9. When you want to just hang out: Take A Back Road, Rodney Atkins
10. When something doesn't go the way you plan: You Can't Always Get What You Want, The Rolling Stones
11. When you get your heart broken: Next Girl, The Black Keys
13. When you miss Chicago: Chelsea Dagger, The Fratellis
14. When you miss your sisters: Pumped Up Kicks, Foster the People
15. When you miss Mom: Red, Red Wine, UB40

18. When you miss me: Drunk, Ed Sheeran
19. When I miss you: All My Loving, Jim Sturgess

20. And when you miss Beth: just turn all the effing music off she doesn't like music."

The last few are inside jokes/stories/family related, and some of them are songs that are specific to Josie's favorites; but you get the gist. I think she liked them..she cried every time I gave her something. Ok, we both cried.

Prouda you, girl! Have so much fun, make so many friends, and try to learn a little while you're at it.
Miss you already!

Yikes, it's been a long time...

Ok, I know it's been forever and a year since I last posted on the ol' blog..but wedding season is still going reaalll strong; so I promise to be better about it! I'm going to go back a bit to catch the blog up, so bare with me if you've seen some of this stuff. But honestly, I work with pretty amazing people/brides/photographers so it's all worth seeing again : )

First up: the Christy Tyler Photography workshop photo collection!
The last post I made was just the sneak peek, so here are the rest of those gorrrrgeous photos from her workshop styled shoot. That girl goes all out when she's teaching a class-- if you are a budding photographer definitely check classes out! (She's even got pro classes I'm pretty sure). Anyway here are the beautiful photos with the beautiful models (and real life couple) with Erin wearing this beautiful gown by Alice Padrul. Christy, Alice, and I recently did another shoot together so stay tuned for that-- I'll share some're gonna wanna see those.

I did the hair + makeup on this shoot-- a first time thing for me! I was pretty proud of the hair on this one-- I love the romantic messiness paired with her pretty blonde hair. What do you think?

Here are just a few of my favorites-- check out my website to see the rest!
